This is a highly sort after Orient CA-Chrono 21 Jewel Watch with its original bracelet and a genuine leather strap included.

For Orient Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a 1969 Orient 42950 CA-Chrono Ace in pristine condition. This is a Collectible.

The dial, hands, markers and day/date window were giving a deep cleaning to reveal a unique two-toned gun-metal-grey-brown dial in pristine condition. So too its silver indices, hands, chapter ring and day/date window.

The case has an extremely unique shape which is seldom seen on any brand watch. The case was given a deep cleaning and high polish so-much-so the case gives off a mirror effect that is mesmerizing. The crystal glass is faceted and reflects light at certain angles which is awesome when coupled with the mirror-like case. Do note that miniscule hairline scratches are still present on the original crystal glass and case.

The crowns are located at the 2H and 3H position. The 2H crown is used for date change whilst the 3H crown is used to adjust the hands. There is no quick change for the day.

Because this is strictly a JDM model, the Day is only in Kanji. Cool!

Its movement was carefully stripped and meticulously cleaned, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated in November 2022. It should be able to operate unhindered for the next 5 to 10 years thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with Orient's famous 42950 movement, it has 23 jewels and operates at 21,600 beats an hour giving it an extremely high level of accuracy and longevity. The time-grapher, after numerous hours of calibration, shows excellent readings i.e. rate of +7 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 237. Such readings are exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve and longevity for such a vintage timepiece, the meticulous care provided over the years, and of course the painstaking calibration conducted.

The case width and height are approximately 38mm (without crown), and 40mm respectively. The lug width is 18mm and the bracelet and strap can accommodate wrists up to 21cm; thus, this watch is suitable for men and the modern women.

The SS bracelet is an original Orient signed bracelet designed for this particular model. It too underwent ultrasonic cleaning and a good polish and is now in near mint condition.

The watch also comes with a brand-new crocodile designed genuine grey leather strap with matching stitching that blends well with the silver case and multi-coloured dial, and is extremely comfortable to wear. T

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Orient components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

The pictures provided shows the watch case in pristine condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation, and it comes in a simple no brand box.

Seldom can one find a vintage watch that offers this and more. Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, BUT none are as well-kept and maintained as what you see here, and with an attractive price to boot. So, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind watch will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in 1969. Another no-brainer is the fact that the value of this watch will appreciate over time.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

Do also bear in mind that it will cost between S$ 180.00 to S$ 200.00 for an overhaul, an estimated S$ 80.00 to calibrate (depending on watch condition), and S$ 120.00 to clean and polish including tightening of bracelet links - these costs do not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.

This is a highly sort-after 1969 Orient CA-Chrono Ace with a beautiful vintage dial, indices, hands, movement and case; so, be unique and use something that is almost impossible to source.
