In recent years, vintage Rado watches have gained immense popularity among watch collectors and enthusiasts. The distinctive designs, historical significance, and quality construction contribute to their appeal.

This Rado Lady Tank was introduced in the 1970s. The watches in this line were characterized by their distinctive designs, and a focus on classy aesthetics.

These were the decades when Rado was experimenting with different materials for watch cases. Rado was one of the pioneers in using materials like hard metals, ceramics, and other innovative materials in their watch designs.

The Rado logo that often features an anchor is not present on this dial for reasons unknown but it is present on the crown.

Its timeless shaped SS steel case, intricate champagne gold dial, 3D gold/black baton indices, and hands are in extremely good condition after a good and thorough clean-up. However, there is a small build-up Patina build-up near the 12H position. The acrylic crystal is original and was given a good buff that removed most of the obvious scratches and age marks albeit there are miniscule scratches still present.

The crown is original and is located at the 3H position and is easily accessible. The quickset hands operate in the traditional manner by pulling out and rotating the crown which works flawlessly.

The case width and height are approximately 22mm (without crown) and 28mm respectively. The lug width is 14mm and the bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 18cm.

The bracelet is original Rado that came with this timepiece. It too was given a good clean-up, and is now in excellent condition.

The watch is 100% original Rado components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts.

This timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age.

The pictures provided show the watch’s case in excellent condition and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided instead.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

Yes, there are many other same models in the market, BUT almost all are not in the same quality condition and as well maintained as what you see here. Hence, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind timepiece will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone.

This particular Rado Tank Quartz timepiece is rather scarce and can only be found in Japan it seems.
