According to most legitimate online information available, the Seiko Fairway 760/61 made its debut in 1961.

The 760 Caliber comes in 17 jewels (1961) whilst the 21 jewels (1962) made the latter more "superior" than the former.

This extremely rare 1963 vintage Seiko Fairway with AD status and pointed star indicates that the indices and hands are 18K solid gold whilst the case is 18K gold-filled, thus making this a highly sort after Collectible Timepiece!

For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a PRE-DAINI (logo) Seikosha in stunning condition.

It's original egg-white dial has miraculously aged to create a stunning patina (Wabi-Sabi - the perfect imperfections) from the outer part of the dial that works its way inwards thus projecting an almost golden sunburst effect that compliments the gold-filled Indices and case. WOW!

This handsome 760 21 Jewel Mechanical Watch has an immaculately preserved reflective Chapter Ring that creates a superb contrast with the dial and case which is extremely pleasing to the eye. The 3D 18K solid gold baton indices and hands are well preserved and given a good buff. So too the 18K gold-filled case and crystal.

The timeless cylindrical shaped gold-filled case with welded lugs was buffed as best as possible; however, there are some hairline scratches still present. The acrylic glass was given a good rub as well.

The signed crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is easily accessible. The time is adjusted by traditionally uncorking the crown for relevant adjustment.

The movement was carefully stripped and meticulously cleaned via ultrasonic immersion, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 16 January 2024. In short, it was given a proper overhaul and should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the classic 760 movement, it has 21 Jewels that operate at 18,000 BPH. The time-grapher shows excellent readings of -2 seconds and amplitude of 270 with a straight and centered line! Such readings are truly exceptional to achieve even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, the meticulous care provided over the years, and of course the painstaking calibration conducted.

The case width and height are approximately 36mm (without crown) and 44mm respectively. The lug width is 19mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 21cm; thus, the watch size is suitable for men and the modern women.

A brand new hi-quality rustic Saddle-Brown Crazy Horse Genuine Leather Strap with brown stitching is provided as part of the deal and is extremely comfortable to wear.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified.

The case seals and crown gaskets have been replaced but due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

The pictures provided shows the watch in pristine condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided instead.

Seldom can one find a vintage watch that offers this and more. Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, but none are as well-kept and maintained as what you see here, and with an attractive price to boot. So, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind watch will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in 1963!

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

Valued between S$ 694.00 to S$ 917.00 on various auction / online sites from really horrible, to un-serviced, to "as is," to serviced, to pristine condition models, this fully overhauled, calibrated and buffed timepiece is being sold here for S$ 599.00 which is extremely reasonable. So, NO LOW-BALLERS, please! Take note that low-ballers, trolls and wannabe advisors (whose "advise" is completely unwelcomed) will not be entertained, and should they persist, they will be reported and blocked!

Do also bear in mind that it will cost between S$ 180.00 to S$ 200.00 for an overhaul, an estimated S$ 80.00 to calibrate (depending on watch condition), and S$ 100.00 to clean and polish including tightening of bracelet links - these costs do not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.

This is a truly magnificent 1963 Seiko DAINI Fairway in immaculate condition with a beautifully preserved vintage Wabi-Sabi dial, immaculate indices, hands, movement and case; so, be unique and own a 1963 Birthday Watch that is almost impossible to source in such fine condition or purchase it for that special someone.

This watch is a conversational piece all by itself!
