Doxa was founded in 1889 in Le Locle, Switzerland, by Georges Ducommun. Known for its early innovations and adventurous spirit, Doxa became synonymous with quality Swiss watchmaking, and later, with iconic dive watches—particularly the SUB series made famous in the 1960s.

But beyond diving fame, Doxa also produced a wide variety of mechanical dress and casual watches in the 1970s that are now increasingly sought after by collectors for their excellent finishing, reliability, and elegant design.

For vintage watch enthusiasts and Doxa collectors, this is a 1950s-1960s Doxa mechanical watch housing a Swiss-made 17-jewel M2852 mechanical movement. The smooth sweep of the second hand and the sturdy heartbeat of 28,800 BPH make it a joy to wear and admire.

Its classic rounded case is paired with a crème white dial that beautifully plays with the light. The applied hour markers and baton hands complete its elegant, understated aesthetic. The original acrylic crystal has been polished to restore its clarity and now shows only minimal signs of age.

The crown is located at the 3H position. Date quickset is available via the crown's first position by pulling it out and turning clockwise, while time is set in the traditional manner by pulling the crown to the second position.

This movement was meticulously disassembled, cleaned, re-oiled, and calibrated on 11 April 2025; and it now runs with strong amplitude and impressive accuracy, offering peace of mind for years of dependable use.

The M2852 movement is a workhorse from the golden era of Swiss watchmaking—featuring 17 Jewels and a 28,800 BPH beat rate. On the timegrapher, the movement shows superb readings of +5 seconds per 24 hours with an amplitude of 240 and a super straight line! These readings rival even some modern COSC chronometers, a testament to its enduring craftsmanship and careful upkeep.

The case width (without crown) is approx. 35.5mm, with a height of 40.2mm. Lug width is 18mm. A brand new hi-quality genuine leather strap compliments the watch.

To the best of our knowledge and upon expert inspection during servicing, all components are 100% original Doxa and period-correct. No aftermarket or modified parts have been installed.

Due to the age of the watch, it has not been tested for water resistance, and it is recommended that the watch not be submerged.

Photos show the watch in its true condition: incredibly clean and well-preserved for its age. It has also been demagnetised to ensure optimal performance, prevent premature wear and maintain accuracy.

Please note, this vintage timepiece does not come with its original box or documentation, but a simple aftermarket box or travel pouch will be provided.

This watch has seen decades of history and carries with it the stories of its previous owners. It deserves a new home where it will be worn, enjoyed, and appreciated as a piece of functional art.

This stunning and rare vintage Doxa mechanical watch is priced at S$ 550.00, a very fair price for a fully serviced, calibrated and historically rich Swiss timepiece.

NO LOW-BALLERS please! Trolls, keyboard warriors, and unsolicited "experts" will be ignored, blocked, and reported. Serious buyers only.

Be bold, be unique—own a piece of 1950-1960s Swiss heritage that’s becoming harder to find in such pristine condition.
