In 1875, J. Bulova Company was established in the USA by Bohemian immigrant, Joseph Bulova. It was re-incorporated in 1923 as Bulova Watch Company. It was sold to Loews Corporation in 1929 who then sold it to Citizen in 2007.

Here we have a beautiful and extremely rare Bulova Supersonic 92211 Sports Chronograph Quartz meant for the Japanese market.

This timepiece was given an overhaul, and its dial was meticulously cleaned, its electronic movement cleaned and touched up, demagnetised, and its battery replaced on 25 May 2024. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next battery change thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

The circular shaped silver case has also undergone a good clean and buffed. The crystal was replaced, and is now in mint condition.

Three crowns are located at the 3H, 4H and 5H position and is easily accessible. The 3H crown is used to change the date and time. The 2H crown is to activate the chronograph and the 5H is to reset the chronograph.

The case width and height are approximately 39mm (w/o crown) and 44.5mm respectively. The lug width is 20mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 17.5cm, thereby making this timepiece suitable for both man and woman.

The original two-tone Bulova signed SS bracelet was given a deep cleaning and is now super clean.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Bulova components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.

The pictures provided shows the watch in pristine condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A brand new EVA pouch is provided instead.

Seldom can one find a vintage watch that offers this and more. Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, BUT none are as well-kept and maintained as what you see here, and with an attractive price to boot. So, this watch will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone! Another no-brainer is the fact that the value of this watch will appreciate over time.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.
