According to most legitimate online information available, the Seiko 7019 movement made its debut in 1969, and this September 1970 model is surely from the first few batches launched.

As most Seiko die-hard fans know, the Seiko Actus was manufactured and assembled in Japan, and solely meant for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM).

The Seiko 5 Actus was manufactured in both SUWA and DAINI factories because both factories competed against one another (think Apple and Macintosh) that brought out the best designs and movements during that era.

For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, THIS IS A SEIKO ACTUS 5 JUMBO DAINI in immaculate condition.

THIS WATCH IS A COLLECTORS ITEM.

A proper deep cleaning was given to its two-toned navy-blue-black dial, 3D silver Indices, hands, date/day window and Chapter Ring. These items are now in near mint condition.

Its unique slightly rectangular with curved edged silver case was buffed as best as possible albeit a few minor scratches that are barely noticeable to the naked eye. The mineral glass is also in excellent condition.

The crown is located at the traditional 4H position and is nicely tucked away to prevent damage or snags yet it is easily accessible. The day / date quickset works flawlessly by pushing the crown in to adjust the day and pulling out the crown to the first level for date adjustment. The time setting is via pulling the crown to the second level.

Because it is a JDM, the Day is in Kanji and English, cool!

The movement was carefully stripped, cleaned, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated in September 2022. It should be able to operate without servicing for the next 5 to 10 years at the very least thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the 7019 movement, it has 21 Jewels that operate at 21,600 beats per hour (BPH) giving it excellent accuracy and longevity. The time-grapher shows excellent readings i.e. rate of -5 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 229! Such readings are exceptional even for brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve and longevity for such a vintage timepiece, the meticulous care provided over the years, and of course the painstaking expert calibration done.

The case width and height are approximately 39mm (without crown) and 42mm respectively. The lug width is 19mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 21cm; thus, the watch size is suitable for men and the modern women.

The brand-new hi-quality hand stitched two tone navy blue genuine leather strap with matching stitching emphasizes the silver case and dial, and is extremely comfortable to wear. 

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified thereby it is considered in near MINT condition.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

The pictures provided show the watch’s case in pristine condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided instead.

Seldom can one find a vintage watch that offers this and more. Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, BUT none are as well-kept and maintained as what you see here, and with an attractive price to boot. So, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind watch will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in September 1970! Another no-brainer is the fact that its value will appreciate over time.
