A Brief Introduction:

"(The) Lord Matic was the mid to high range of automatic watches introduced by Seiko in 1968 and based on the freshly developed 56xx movement. As you might probably know, there was actually two ranges of LM, the one produced by the Suwa factory, based on the 56xx movement and the LM Special introduced a couple of years later by the Daini factory and based on the 52xx movement" ~ Watch & Vintage Magazine.

Most LM Day / Date models suffer from damage to the day / date quick set, but this baby works as it should.

This simple yet uniquely square cased brings sexiness to a different level! It's original midnight black dial, 3D silver baton and Roman Numeral indices, silver date / day window and hands show practically zero signs of aging after a good clean-up.

This beautifully square shaped (TV) silver case is in superb condition with its super sexy curves maintained but nonetheless, it was given a good wash and buffed afterwards. Most imperfections were removed without compromising the case shape and curves albeit miniscule scratches do remain. The crystal is original and was also given a good rub albeit tiny scratches do remain.

The crown is original and is located at the 3H position and is easily accessible. The date / day quickset works as it should by uncorking the crown to the first and second level to adjust the date + day via clockwise or counterclockwise, and hands respectively.

The movement was given a general servicing on 25 October 2026. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the iconic 5606 movement, it has 23 Jewels that operate at 21,600 BPH. Timing is approximately ± 1 minute per day which is fully acceptable.

The case width and height are approximately 31.2mm (without crown) and 37.7mm respectively. The lug width is 20mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 21cm; hence, this watch is suitable for men and the modern women.

The watch comes with a brand-new Uber-Quality Genuine Italian Reptile Lether Strap as part of the deal.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified.

Even though the seals and gaskets were replaced, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age.

The pictures provided show the watch in near mint condition and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided instead.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.
