This Seiko Lady 2118-0400 is considered a vintage and a Collectible because of its higher BHP.

Its size was the standard female watch size of the 50s to 70s. Big watches during that period were considered boorish behaviour for both men and women.

Its case design is rather ala UFO men's watch design which is intriguing.

Her 3D baton indices, date window and hands are in excellent condition after a good clean-up. There is a slight dose of patina (Wabi-Sabi - The Perfect Imperfections) around the edges of the dial which somewhat gives it character.

Its cylindrical shaped case is married to a beautiful and original Seiko signed SS bracelet that adds class. It was cleaned and buffed as best as possible without compromising its shape and lines albeit a few minor scratches that are barely noticeable to the naked eye. The crystal is original and is constructed from mineral glass. It too was given a good rub and is now almost perfect.

The crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is easily accessible.

It was carefully stripped and given a deep cleaning, service and general calibration on 28 August 2023. Its timekeeping is excellent i.e. ± 1 minute every 24 hours, and should be able to operate unhindered for the next 5 to 10 years thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

The case width and height are approximately 26mm (without crown) and 30mm respectively. The lug width is 12mm and the SS bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 15.0cm.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified thereby it is considered in near MINT condition.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

The pictures provided show the watch in very good condition. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. An aftermarket box or purposeful carrying case will be provided instead.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and preserved for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, BUT none has beautifully aged and as well maintained as what you see here. Hence, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind watch will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in October 1969. Another no-brainer is the fact that the value of this watch will appreciate over time.

Do also bear in mind that it will cost between S$ 120.00 to S$ 150.00 for a basic servicing, an estimated S$ 40.00 for basic calibration; and S$ 40.00 to clean and buff the watch case and bracelet - these costs do not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.

This is a beautiful timepiece that would make a beautiful present for that someone special born in October 1969.

This is a must-have for the Seiko die-hard fan, and in fact, any serious watch collector for that matter!
