Prior to the production of their own movement, Seiko used to purchase watch movements from Europe, namely the English brand, Moeris.

Here we have a Seikosha mechanical movement built circa 1930s to 1940s with a sub-second's hand dial that is separate from the main movement. This watch was produced prior to the formation of the DAINI and SUWA separate factories.

This gorgeous Seikosha, Model 10 is a 15 Jewel Mechanical timepiece that is breathtaking in so many ways that brought Seiko into the limelight as a serious watchmaking company that can now contend with the Swiss, English, German and American "big boys."

For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a Seikosha Cal 10 in a 1D10 case in near-mint condition.

This very rare vintage Seikosha has a 2-Tone pearl white main dial and a silver sub-second dial located at the 6H position. The dial and 14K gold Arabic indices and Dauphine hands underwent a good cleaning; however, the indices and dial were mostly left untouched to allow it vintage-ness due to a slow build-up of patina that is noticeable which gives the watch extra charm. The crystal was replaced and buffed and is now in excellent condition.

The classical designed case was also cleaned via ultrasonic immersion and buffed to remove age marks, and miniscule hairline scratches caused by aging.

The crown is located at the traditional 3H positions and nicely tucked away to prevent damage or snags. The crown is original and was reduced in size compared to the 1920s Seiko mechanical movements.

The movement was carefully stripped, meticulously cleaned, oiled, and re-assembled on 20 October 2026. Hence, it underwent an overhaul and not a general servicing. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with a Seikosha 10 movement constructed from stainless steel, it has 15 Jewels and operate at 18,000 BPH. The timing shows approximately 13 seconds deviation daily which is well within the 30 second requirements for by brand new modern automatic watch standards.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified.

The case width and height are approximately 30.2m (w/o crown) and 36.2mm respectively. The lug width is 16mm, and the leather strap can accommodate wrists up to 20cm; hence, this watch is suitable for men and the women.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

A brand-new uber-quality genuine burgundy reptile leather strap with silver buckle is provided as part of the deal.

The pictures provided shows the watch in pristine condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided.

Seldom can one find a vintage watch that offers this and more. Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, but none are as well-kept and maintained as what you see here, and with an attractive price to boot. So, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind watch will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone.

This is a stunning circa 1940s Seiko Chronometer Sub-Seconds in stunning condition with a beautifully preserved vintage dial, movement, stunning case, and immaculate 14K gold indices and hands; so, be unique and own a super vintage Watch that is almost impossible to source in such fine condition or purchase it for that special someone instead.
