This Omega Geneve Dynamic Tool 102 Lady Cal 684 is an extremely rare timepiece produced by Swiss luxury watchmaker Omega. This oval shaped case with a dial that mimics an eye with pupil is simply stunning.
During the quartz revolution of the 1970s, Omega adapted by incorporating quartz movements into their range of watches. This period saw the introduction of both analog and digital quartz models, reflecting the changing preferences of the era. However, this timepiece was launched in 1971 and its cutting edge design allowed the automatic Omega watches to still fly off the shelves in a blink of an eye (excuse the pun)! The 1990s saw Omega refocused on mechanical movements and traditional craftsmanship.
Omega designed watches also offers a range of watches designed specifically for women. These models often feature smaller case sizes, intricate detailing, and a mix of materials and precious stones.
Here we have an overhauled Omega Geneve Dynamic Tool 102 Lady Cal 684 Automatic with Hand Winding capabilities in stunning condition.
A good and thorough clean-up revealed a beautifully preserved three-tone dial with orange and white markers, and white baton hands. The second hand is in red.
Its classy and stylish eye-shaped silver case was buffed as best as possible without compromising its shape, lines and brushed finish albeit a few minor scratches that are barely noticeable. The original crystal was given a good buff and is in near mint condition now.
The signed crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is easily accessible.
The movement was carefully stripped and meticulously cleaned via ultrasonic immersion, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 24 June 2024; hence it underwent an overhaul and not a general servicing. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.
Equipped with the 684 movement made from copper-plated beryllium-bronze, it has 24 Jewels and operate at 21,600 BPH. The time-grapher, after hours of calibration, shows superb readings of -4 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 258 with a relatively straight centered line! Such readings are extremely exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve, the meticulous care provided over the years, and expert calibration.
The case width and height are approx. 30mm (w/o crown) and 33mm respectively. The bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 14cm.
The timepiece comes with its original Omega Signed SS Bracelet that was thoroughly cleaned and buffed.
To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Omega components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.
Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested even though the seals are present.
The pictures provided shows the watch in near mint condition. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. An aftermarket box or purposeful carrying case will be provided instead.
This very rare watch will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone, and its value will appreciate over time.
Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and preserved for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.
This is a highly sort-after Omega Dynamic Tool 102 Lady Automatic in pristine condition; so, be unique and wear a watch that is almost impossible to source in such fine condition.
