Citizen Watch Co., Ltd., was founded in 1930 as the Shokosha Watch Research Institute by Japanese jeweler Kamekichi Yamazaki. The company was later renamed Citizen in 1937.

Here we have the ultra-slim Citizen Exceed "Euro" 5636-F60871 Quartz Lady Dress Watch. This Exceed model is a JDM and is very rare outside of Japan when first launched. It is even rarer now.

The Citizen ultra-slim Exceed Euro range was designed and created to compete with the luxurious Seiko Dolce range.

The 2 tone dial is made from seashell thereby creating a multi-coloured hologram effect which is breath-taking. Its 3D Gold Roman Numerals with Dauphine Hands are in gold-plated. The bezel and crown are also gold-plated to complement the indices and hands.

This timepiece was given a good servicing, and its dial was meticulously cleaned, its electronic movement cleaned and touched up, demagnetised, and its battery replaced on 30 January 2024. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next battery change thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

This well preserved silver case was also given a good rub while maintaining its sharp lines and sexy curves. Most imperfections were removed without compromising the case shape and gold-filling. The crystal is original and was also given a good rub and is now in excellent shape.

The crown is located at its traditional 3H position and is easily accessible.

The case width and height are approximately 26mm (without crown) and 28mm respectively. The lug width is 14mm and the bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 18cm.

The Super Engineer designed SS bracelet is original and Citizen Exceed Euro Signed. It too was given a good cleaning and buff.

To the best of our knowledge while overhauling this timepiece, the watch is 100% original Citizen components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts.

This timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age.

The pictures provided shows the watch in excellent condition and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided instead.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

Yes, there are many other same models in the market, BUT almost all are not in the same quality condition and as well maintained as what you see here. Hence, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind timepiece will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in March 1992!
