Alfred Dunhill Ltd. was founded in 1893 by Alfred Dunhill in London. Initially focusing on automotive accessories, the brand eventually expanded into luxury goods including clothing, leather goods, and watches.
Dunhill has established itself as a symbol of British luxury, known for its meticulous attention to detail and use of high-quality materials.
Dunhill watches are designed with a blend of classic British style and modern sophistication. They are known for their elegant aesthetics and practical functionality.
The watches are made with premium materials such as stainless steel, gold, and high-grade leather for straps. The brand emphasizes craftsmanship, ensuring each timepiece is built to high standards.
Here we have a beautiful Dunhill Cal 728 Evening Wear Quartz Watch that was meant for the Japanese market.
This timepiece was given an overhaul, and its dial was meticulously cleaned, its electronic movement cleaned and touched up, demagnetised, and its battery replaced on 22 May 2024. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next battery change thereby providing the owner peace of mind.
The circular shaped silver case has also undergone a good clean and buffed. The crystal was replaced with a hi-quality crystal and is now in mint condition.
The crown is located at the 3H position and is easily accessible.
The case width and height are approximately 32mm (w/o crown) and 38mm respectively. The lug width is 18mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 20cm, thereby making this timepiece suitable for both man and woman.
Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.
The watch is accompanied by a hi-quality mesh SS Bracelet with adjustable clasp. It too had undergone a thorough cleaning via ultrasonic immersion and a buff.
The pictures provided shows the watch in pristine condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A brand new EVA pouch is provided instead.
This watch will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone! Another no-brainer is the fact that the value of this watch will appreciate over time.
Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.
