In the late 1980s and 1990s, Seiko, known for its innovative approach to watchmaking, began exploring collaborations with various designers to create watches that were not only precise timepieces but also fashion statements.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Seiko first collaborated on a limited-edition Seiko watch for ANA in 2003. The earliest documented co-branded model was a special Seiko ANA Pilot (ref. 7S26-0620) released in late 2003, sold through ANA’s in-flight catalog and associated with ANA pilots and passengers at that time.

Since then, the partnership has resurfaced periodically in the form of “SEIKO for ANA” limited-edition watches tied to ANA aircraft anniversaries and celebrations — such as the Boeing 787-themed model first sold in December 2023, and subsequent releases for the Boeing 727 and 777 motifs in later years.

This V172-0BA0 was launched in July 2016 with a Limited-Edition quantity.

This timepiece was given a good servicing, and its dial was meticulously cleaned, its electronic movement cleaned and touched up and demagnetised on 3 July 2025. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next battery replacement thereby providing the owner peace of mind. The crown has been uncorked to prevent battery drainage.

This is a Solar powered watch.

This case was also given a good rub while maintaining its sharp lines and sexy curves. Most imperfections were removed without compromising the case shape. There are miniscule scratches especially on the case-back which is synonymous with age. The crystal is original and was given a good rub as well and is also in near mint condition.

The crowns are located at the traditional 2H, 3H and 4H positions and are easily accessible. The 2H is used for the stopwatch start/stop and 4H is used for stopwatch reset. The 3H crown is used for the date and main hands quickset adjustments.

There are 3 dials within, the 12H Dial showcases the hour, the 9H Dial Showcases the seconds, and the 6H Dial showcases the hour. 

The case width and height are approximately 39mm (w/o crown) and 47.4mm respectively. The lug width is 20mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 21cm; hence, it is suitable for both man and the modern woman.

A brand-new good quality Carbon Fiber Designed Strap with Black buckle is included as part of the deal.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.

Even though its seals and gaskets are in place, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age.

The pictures provided shows the watch in excellent condition and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided instead.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.
