The Second Series of sen coins entered circulation late 1989. Sporting a completely redesign yet predominantly retaining the design of edges, diameters and composition of the First Edition coins, the 1 ringgit coin being the exception.

Other changes include the depiction of Malay culture items on the obverse, such as a local mancala game board known as congkak on the 10 sen and the wau bulan or "moon kite" on the 50 sen among other things; and the inclusion of a Hibiscus rosa-sinensis AKA "Bunga Raya" in Malay which is Malaysia's national flower. The second series was designed by Low Yee Kheng.

This Second Edition, although recently superseded by the Third Edition will become scarce as time goes by, thus it's valued will steadily appreciate over time.

Coin vintage and value are:
a) 1 nos of 5 Sen (2010),
b) 2 nos of 10 Sen (1997 & 2009),
c) 5 nos of 20 Sen (1 x 1993, 1 x 2006, 1 x 2007, and 2 x 2009), and
d) 2 nos of 50 Sen (2005 and 2008)

These 10 coins are sold collectively at S$ 17.00 which is a very attractive offer because of certain vintage years that are highly sort after.
