Féro & Cie was founded by Roger Ferner in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, prior to World War I. The brand name "Fero" is derived from the founder's name, combining the first two letters of his surname and given name (FErner ROger).

Initially, the company produced watches under various brand names, including Ceneri, Farad, Ferio, Hello, Legation, Maloja, Pantheon, and Tango. In the 1950s, the company underwent a rebranding to Fero Feldmann, with operations based in Wolfwil, Switzerland.

Fero watches were known for their distinctive case designs and utilized movements from reputable Swiss manufacturers such as Anton Schild, Bettlach, and FHF. However, like many small Swiss watchmakers, Fero Feldmann ceased operations during the quartz crisis of the 1970s.

Here we have a highly sort-after circa 1960s Fero Feldman Sunburst Blue Dial 17J Mechanical Timepiece in stunning condition.

A good and thorough clean-up revealed a beautifully preserved Sunburst Blue Dial, Baton Indices with Baton Hands.

Its classic cushion shaped case was buffed as best as possible without compromising its shape and lines albeit miniscule scratches that are barely noticeable. The crystal was buffed and is in good condition albeit miniscule scratches are still present.

The unsigned crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is easily accessible. The quick time-set is adjusted via the traditional method of uncorking the crown and turning the crown accordingly. There is no date quick set.

The mechanical movement was given a general clean-up on 17 July 2026; hence, it should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner a peace of mind.

Equipped with the high grade and highly prized Swiss Mechanical movement, it has 17 Jewels and operate at 18,000 BPH. The timing shows approximately 25 seconds deviation daily which is well within the 30 second requirements for by brand new modern automatic watch standards.

The case width and height are approximately 37.2mm (w/o crown) and 43.5mm respectively. The lug width is 19mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 21cm, thus suitable for men and women.

The timepiece comes with a good-quality genuine blue leather strap with silver buckle.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Fero Feldman components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.

This timepiece is not water-resistant. DO TAKE NOTE.

The pictures provided shows the watch in stunning condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box, so a simple aftermarket box / pouch will be provided instead.

This extremely rare watch will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone, and its value will appreciate over time.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life and should be cherished and preserved for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

Because it is extremely rare, this 17J Fero Feldman Tank Mechanical Movement is not easily found on auction and online sites.

This is a highly sort-after Fero Feldman Mechanical in stunning condition; so, be unique and own a c1960s Fero Watch that is almost impossible to source in such fine condition or purchase it for that special someone instead.
