Stuhrling (often seen as “Stührling Original”) was founded in 1999 (or, according to some sources, formalized around 2002) by Chaim Fischer (also named Henry Fischer in some brand accounts) in New York, USA. His goal was to make visually striking watches with elements of traditional watchmaking design accessible to everyday consumers, rather than only to those who could afford expensive luxury brands.

The brand name refers to Max Stührling, described in company marketing as a Swiss master watchmaker from the 18th/19th century. However, the direct historical connection between the modern company and the historical Max Stührling is largely a marketing story rather than a documented lineage.

From its first collections, Stuhrling’s stated mission was to give people “luxury looks without luxury prices.” In its first year of operation, the brand reportedly sold over 22,000 watches soon after launching its own production setup. By the mid-2010s, it claimed to sell over a million timepieces annually, showing significant growth in global distribution.

The crown is located at the 3H position and is used for normal date/ hand adjustment. The watch comes with 2 levers located at the 2H and 4H position. They are used for the chronograph operations.
