This Seiko Lady Chorus 2118 is considered a vintage and a Collectible because of its age and scarcity.

Its size was the standard female watch size of the 50s to 70s. Big watches during that period were considered boorish behaviour for both men and women.

Its circular silver case, silver dial, 3D Baton Indices, Dauphine Hands, and Date Window are in near mint condition after a good clean-up. The crystal was replaced with an NOS Seiko original crystal with a date magnifier, and was also given a good rub. It is now immaculate.

The crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is easily accessible.

The movement was carefully stripped and meticulously cleaned via ultrasonic immersion, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 30 May 2024; hence, it was given a proper overhaul and should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the excellent 2118 movement, it has 17 Jewels that operate at 19,800 BPH. The time-grapher, after 60 hours of calibration, shows excellent readings i.e. rate of 0 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 225 with a super straight and centered line! Such readings are truly exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve, the meticulous care provided over the years, and the painstaking calibration conducted.

The case width and height are approximately 27mm (w/o crown) and 34mm respectively. The lug width is 14mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 16.0cm.

The original Seiko Signed SS Bracelet accompanies this timepiece. It too underwent a thorough cleaning and buffing and is now in superb condition albeit miniscule scratches that comes with age.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

The pictures provided shows the watch in stunning condition. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear and tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A brand new EVA pouch is provided instead.

This is a very rare watch that will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in July 1968, and its value will appreciate over time.
