The Seiko Lady 1140-7010 is one of the first hi-beat JDM watches produced by Seiko for the female buyer which is a rarity hence its collectible status.

The timepiece oozes sublime class with its unique two tone case and SS bracelet. Small watches were standard for female watches because small lady watches showcases elegance without bragging. Big watches during the 50s to 70s were considered boorish behaviour.

This uniquely designed watch has a captivating two-tone silver dial, case and SS bracelet. This watch is extremely captivating and mesmerising to say the least.

Its rectangular Tank shaped case is married to a same designed SS bracelet that adds pizzazz to the wearer. It was buffed as best as possible without compromising its shape and lines albeit a few minor scratches that are barely noticeable to the naked eye. The crystal is original and is constructed from mineral glass. It too was given a good rub and is now almost perfect.

The crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is easily accessible yet nicely tucked away to prevent damage or snags.

The movement was carefully stripped, meticulously cleaned, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 12 March 2024. In short, it was given an overhaul, and should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

The case width and height are approximately 16mm (without crown) and 27mm respectively; the lug width is 15mm; and the SS bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 15.0cm with ease.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

The pictures provided shows the watch is in stunning condition. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. An aftermarket box or purposeful carrying case will be provided instead.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and preserved for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, BUT none as beautifully aged and as well maintained as what you see here. Hence, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind watch will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in August 1979! Another no-brainer is the fact that the value of this watch will appreciate over time.

Do also bear in mind that it will cost between S$ 180.00 to S$ 200.00 for a proper overhaul, an estimated S$ 80.00 to calibrate (depending on watch condition), and S$ 100.00 to clean and polish including tightening of bracelet links - these costs do not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.

This is a beautiful timepiece that would make a beautiful present for that someone special.

This is a must-have for the Seiko die-hard fan, and in fact, any serious watch collector for that matter!
