Introduced in December 1969, the Seiko Quartz Astron is often credited as the world's first commercially available quartz wristwatch. Quartz watches use a quartz crystal oscillator to keep time that is much more accurate than the traditional mechanical movements used in wristwatches at the time.

The quartz movement in the Astron was incredibly precise, with an accuracy of within 5 seconds per month, far superior to mechanical watches of the era.

The introduction of the Seiko Quartz Astron had a profound impact on the watch industry. It marked the beginning of the Quartz Revolution that led to the decline of traditional mechanical watches in the market and the rise of more accurate and affordable quartz timepieces.

Seiko's Quartz Astron was showcased at the Baselworld watch fair in Switzerland in 1970, where it received international attention and acclaim because this watch changed horology history forever.

Here we have a very well-preserved and rare Seiko 7N21-8A00 JDM Quartz Watch in mint condition with Box and Papers.

This Seiko 7N21 model was selected by the Japanese Olympic Committee as the commemorative watch for the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics.

This watch has been in storage and has never been worn. Unsurprisingly, the watch has not aged and the high-quality Seiko leather strap with gold buckle is in mint condition.

The pictures provided shows the watch in stunning condition and well maintained, and no battery was inserted into the watch since purchase; hence, everything within is mint condition as well. The watch comes with its original Seiko papers including its warranty card. The only drawback is the damage to the box cover that occurred during storage.
