According to most reliable online sources, the Seiko 6306 movement made its debut in 1976 to 1981 and is the predecessor of the famous 6309 movement.

As most Seiko die-hard fans know, the Seiko Actus was manufactured and assembled in Japan and solely meant for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM).

The Seiko Actus was manufactured in both SUWA and DAINI factories because both factories competed against one another (think Apple and Macintosh) that brought out the best designs and movements during that era. Thus, the value of each vintage watch is determined by the movement within. So, the buyer must exercise due diligence when purchasing a Seiko Actus, Seiko 5 Actus etc. and which movement calibers they are using because the value is determined by this important factor.

For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a Seiko Actus JDM SUWA 21J in near mint condition and is highly sort after due to its unique dial and its Tank design scarcity.

The patterned milk white dial, 3D baton silver indices, day/date window, hands and case are in immaculate condition after a deep cleaning.

This beautifully squarish shaped silver case also underwent ultrasonic immersion and a good rub while maintaining its super sexy curves and lines. Most imperfections were removed without compromising the case shape. The crystal is original and was also given a good polish.

The crown is original and is located at the 3H position and is nicely tucked away yet easily accessible. The date / day and time quickset works as it should by uncorking the crown to the first and second level for relevant adjustments.

Because it is a JDM, the day is in English and Kanji - cool!

The movement was carefully stripped, meticulously cleaned via ultrasonic immersion, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 25 August 2023; hence it underwent an overhaul and should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the 6306A movement, it has 21 Jewels that operate at 21,600 BPH. The time-grapher shows exceptional readings of 0 seconds and amplitude of 177 with a relatively straight centered line! Such readings are exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve, the meticulous care provided over the years, and the painstaking calibration conducted.

The case width and height are approximately 35mm (w/o crown) and 40.5mm respectively. The lug-to-lug width is 19mm and the bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 16.7cm; hence, this watch is suitable for men and the modern women.

The SS bracelet is an original Seiko Actus signed that also underwent ultrasonic cleaning and a good rub and is now in excellent condition albeit minor scratches doe remain.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.

Even though the seals and gaskets are present / replaced, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age.

The pictures provided shows the watch in near mint condition and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided instead.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

This very rare timepiece will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in September 1976, and its value will appreciate over time.

This particular Seiko Actus 6306-5000, white patterned dial and original bracelet is valued between S$ 339.00 to 688.00 on various auction / online sites from horrible, to un-serviced, to "as is," to service, to refurbished condition models. New Old Stock (NOS) / Fully Restored models are valued between S$ 765.00 to S$ 947.00. Do note that the mentioned prices may / do not include currency conversions, commissions, taxes and freight costs etc.

TAKE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN "ACTUS" AND NOT AN "ACTUS 5" WHICH IS SUPPOSEDLY A CHEAPER MODEL.

This overhauled, calibrated and polished timepiece is being sold at S$ 556.00 which is extremely reasonable. So, NO LOW-BALLERS ADN TIME WASTERS, please! Take note that low-ballers, trolls and wannabe advisors (whose "advise" is completely unwelcomed) will not be entertained, and should they persist, they will be reported and blocked!

Do also bear in mind that it will cost between S$ 180.00 to S$ 200.00 for an overhaul, an estimated S$ 80.00 to S$ 100.00 to calibrate (depending on watch condition), and S$ 100.00 to polish including tightening of bracelet links - these costs do not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.

This is a highly sort-after Collectible Seiko Actus 6306-5000 patterned milky white dial with original bracelet in stunning condition; so, be unique and own a September 1976 Birthday Watch that is almost impossible to source in such fine condition or purchase it for that special someone!
