As most Seiko die-hard fans know, the Seiko Actus was manufactured and assembled in Japan, and solely meant for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM).

The Seiko 5 Actus was manufactured in both SUWA and DAINI factories because both factories competed against each other (think Apple and Macintosh) that brought out the best designs and movements during that era.

According to most legitimate online information available, the Seiko 7005 and 7019 movements made their debuts in the same year of 1969.

For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a highly sort after Seiko 5 Actus DAINI in stunning condition.

A good cleaning was conducted on the Salmon Sunburst Dial, 3D silver baton indices, hands and date / day window; and they are now in excellent condition. A slight build-up of Patina is seen on the dial edges that is working inwards.

Its typical cylindrical shaped silver case was buffed as best as possible albeit a few minor scratches that are barely noticeable. The crystal was replaced and is now in mint condition.

The crown is located at the traditional 4H position and is nicely tucked away to prevent damage or snags yet easily accessible. The day / date quickset works as it should by pushing the crown in to adjust the day and pulling out the crown to the first level for date adjustment. The time setting is via pulling the crown to the second level.

Because it is a JDM, the Day is in Kanji and English, cool!

The movement was carefully stripped and meticulously cleaned via ultrasonic immersion, oiled and re-assembled in 22 May 2024, thus it had undergone an overhaul and should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the 7019 movement, it has 21 Jewels that operate at 21,600 BPH. The time-grapher shows excellent readings of -4 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 165! Such readings are exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, the meticulous care provided over the years, and the hi-quality calibration conducted.

The case width and height are approx. 37.5mm (w/o crown) and 42.5mm respectively. The lug width is 18mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 19cm; hence, suitable for men and the modern women.

It comes with a hi-quality Bear Brand Genuine Leather Strap with Silver Buckle.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

The pictures provided shows the watch in excellent condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A brand new EVA pouch is provided instead.

This very rare Salmon Dial vintage watch will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in September 1974, and its value will appreciate over time.
