According to most legitimate online information available, the Seiko 7019 movement made its debut in 1969.

This extremely sexy and rare February 1977 Seiko "Baby Monaco" has a classic Charcoal Grey original dial, beautifully preserved 3D silver baton indices & hands, and day/date window that were given a good clean-up.

For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a Seiko 5 Baby Monaco DAINI in stunning condition!

The squarish case and case-back are solid steel and in excellent condition after a good buff albeit a few minor scratches are noticed on the glass, case and case-back.

The crown is located at the 3H position and tucked away nicely to prevent damage or snags yet easily accessible. It is also equipped with quickset day adjustment by pushing the crown deeper whilst the Hands and Date adjustments are done via the traditional method of turning the uncorked crown accordingly.

The Day is in English and Spanish, cool!

The movement was carefully stripped and meticulously cleaned via ultrasonic immersion, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 22 July 2024. In short, it was given a proper overhaul and should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the famous 7019 workhorse movement, it has 21 jewels and operate at 21,600 BPH. The time-grapher, after hours of calibration, shows excellent readings i.e. rate of +2 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 168 with a relatively straight centered line! Such readings are truly exceptional to achieve even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve, the meticulous care provided over the years, and the painstaking calibration conducted.

The case width and height are 38mm (w/o crown) and 41mm respectively. The lug width is 21mm; and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 21.0cm; hence, it is suitable for both men and women.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.

Even though the seals and gaskets are intact / replaced, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age.

The pictures provided shows the watch in immaculate condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided instead.

This very rare watch will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in February 1977, and its value will appreciate over time.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

Do also bear in mind that it will cost between S$ 180.00 to S$ 200.00 for an overhaul, an estimated S$ 80.00 to calibrate (depending on watch condition), and S$ 100.00 to clean and polish including tightening of bracelet links - these costs do not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.

This is a highly sort-after Seiko 5 Baby Monaco rare model; so, be unique and wear a watch that is almost impossible to source in such stunning condition.
