According to most legitimate information found online, the 76XX movement made its debut in 1963 to 1964.

Even though the Sportsmatic was meant to be a more affordable version of the Seikomatic, it was nonetheless provided with day / date capabilities, good quality movements and Applied Dial (AD) status for certain models. This is one such model what with its Deluxe status thereby additional jewels and 14K gold-filled indices, hands and case.

This Seiko 5 Sportsmatic 7619-7060AD also has a hacking feature that is extremely beneficial for time synchronizing. It is also a deluxe model thus the additional jewels to minimise parts wear and tear, improve power reserve and timekeeping.

For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a Seiko 7619-7060AD Deluxe 25J Gold-Filled in near-mint condition. This is a highly sort-after Collectible timepiece. Its "AD" status makes it even more desirable to own, and it is almost non-existent as well. MOST AVAILABLE MODELS ARE NOT GOLD-FILLED.

The champagne-silvery-gold dial, 3D baton style solid-gold indices, solid gold dauphine hands, fluted day/date window, fluted chapter ring and gold-filled case are in immaculate condition after a deep cleaning to bring out the true hidden beauty.

This gold-filled case is in near mint condition with its super sharp lines and is beautifully maintained albeit a bit wearing of the gold-filing on the top left lug due to age. It was nonetheless given a good cleaning and a good buff to remove most imperfections without compromising the case shape, lines and gold filings, but there are still miniscule scratches remaining that are almost invisible to the naked eye. The crystal was replaced with an original Seiko crystal. The old crystal will be provided as part of the purchase.

Two crowns are present at 2H and 4H. Both are nicely tucked away to prevent damage or snags yet easily accessible. The date quickset works flawlessly by pushing in the 2H crown. The 4H crown is for hands adjustment. There is no quickset for day adjustment and it must be manually done via crown rotating until the correct day appears in the window. The day is only in English.

Its movement was carefully stripped and meticulously cleaned via ultrasonic immersion, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 4 October 2023; hence it underwent an overhaul instead of a general servicing. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the excellent 7619 movement, it operates at 18,000 BPH. The time-grapher, after hours of calibration, shows excellent readings i.e. rate of -2 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 195 with a relatively straight and centered line! Such readings are truly exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, the meticulous care provided over the years, and the painstaking expert calibration conducted.

The case width and height are approximately 38mm (without crown) and 44mm respectively. The lug width is 18mm and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 20cm; hence, this watch is suitable for men and the modern women.

A brand-new hi-quality two-toned genuine leather strap with built-in quick release spring-bars and gold buckle is selected to marry with the dial indices, hands and case.

To the best of our experience and knowledge, everything within the case including the crown and glass, is 100% Seiko original.

Even though the seals and gaskets are intact / replaced, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age.

The pictures provided shows the watch in excellent condition and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A brand new EVA pouch is provided instead.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, BUT almost all are not in the same quality condition and is well maintained as what you see here. So, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind watch will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in February 1966! Another no-brainer is the fact that the value of this watch will appreciate over time.

Do also bear in mind that it will cost between S$ 180.00 to S$ 200.00 for a proper overhaul, an estimated S$ 80.00 to calibrate (depending on condition of the watch), and S$ 40.00 to polish the watch case - these costs do not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.

This is a highly sort-after Seiko 7619-7060 AD Gold-Filled Collectors timepiece in stunning condition; so, be unique and wear something that is almost impossible to source.

This is a must-have for the Seiko die-hard fan, and in fact, any serious watch collector!
