A NATO nylon strap is a durable, lightweight watch strap originally derived from British military specifications. Made from tightly woven nylon, it is designed for strength, comfort, and security in demanding conditions.

Unlike a conventional two-piece strap, the NATO strap uses a single continuous length of nylon that passes underneath the watch case, with an additional retaining section and metal keepers. This construction provides an important safety advantage: if one spring bar fails, the watch can remain attached to the wrist through the other spring bar.

NATO straps typically feature a stainless-steel buckle and multiple metal keepers, with heat-sealed or reinforced adjustment holes to resist fraying. They are highly resistant to sweat and moisture, dry relatively quickly, and can easily be washed.
