The Seiko 5328 is a fascinating timepiece due to its unique combination of Japanese design and Swiss movement, reflecting Seiko's broader history and strategy in the watch industry.

For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a Seiko 5328A-0030 in near mint condition. This watch is a Collectible because it is one of the very few modern Seiko's that uses a FHF 138.001 Swiss movement with a small seconds dial at the 6H position.

This seldom seen June 1985 Seiko was given a good clean-up - the results - the egg-white sunburst dial, chapter ring, 3D gold baton markers and hands are now in near mint condition.

Its gold case was given a good clean-up and buffed as best as possible and is now in exceptional condition. The acrylic crystal is original and was given a good buff.

The crown is located at the traditional 3H position. The time quickset works by pulling out the crown to make the necessary adjustments.

The movement was carefully stripped, meticulously cleaned, oiled and re-assembled on 14 August 2024, thus it had undergone a full service and should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the Swiss FHF 138.001 (renamed Seiko 8325A) movement, it has 17 Jewels that operate at 21,600 BPH with a very high reserve of 47 hours! The time-grapher shows stunning readings of +1 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 196 with a super straight centred line! Such readings are truly exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve, the meticulous care provided over the years, and the painstaking expert calibration conducted.

The case width and height are approx. 27mm (w/o crown) and 33mm respectively. The lug width is 14mm, and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 18cm.

A brand new Seiko signed Genuine Calf Leather Strap with Gold Seiko Signed Buckle is provided as part of the deal.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.

Even though the seals and gaskets are present / replaced, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age.

The pictures provided shows the watch in near mint condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A nice purposeful carrying case or box will be provided.

This very rare watch will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in June 1985, and its value will appreciate over time.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

Do also bear in mind that it will cost between S$ 120.00 to S$ 150.00 for a full servicing, an estimated S$ 80.00 for calibration (depending on watch condition), and S$ 100.00 to clean and polish including tightening of bracelet links - these costs do not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.

This is a truly magnificent and rare June 1985 Seiko 8325-0030 sub-seconds in stunning condition; so, be unique and wear a watch that is almost impossible to source in such fine condition.
