Founded by Ariste Calame in Le Locle, Switzerland, Zodiac Watches is a Swiss watch brand with a rich history dating back to 1882. The brand name "Zodiac" was officially registered in 1908. Over the years, Zodiac has been recognized for its innovations in watchmaking, including the introduction of the Sea Wolf in 1953, one of the first purpose-built dive watches marketed to the masses that has a dive depth of 430ft. Zodiac introduced the Super Sea Wolf, with enhanced water resistance up to 750 meters, that adopted by U.S. Navy SEALs.

For Zodiac Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a Zodiac ZO8001 Diver's Club from the Oceanaire range launched in 2006. The ZO8001 is appreciated for its bold design and solid construction, characteristic of Zodiac's dive watches from that era. Its limited availability, distinctive features and cessation of production have made it a sought-after piece among collectors.

The matt black dial, 3D luminous Block and Button Indices, Diver Hands, Date window, and chapter ring are in stunning condition after a good clean-up.

This case is in very good condition with its sharp lines and is beautifully maintained albeit miniscule scratches are present but barely noticeable. It was given a good clean-up to remove most imperfections without compromising the case shape and lines. The crystal was replaced with a good quality sapphire single dome crystal.

The screwed down crown is located at the 4H position that is easily accessible. The date and hands quickset works as it should by uncorking the crown to the first and second position and adjust accordingly.

Due to its young age, its movement was given a basic dismantling, clean-up, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 20 April 2025; hence it should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the excellent 18J Claro-Semag CL888 movement, it operates at 21,600 BPH. The time-grapher, after hours of calibration, shows excellent readings i.e. rate of +2 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 224 with a straight centered line! Such readings are exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve, the meticulous care provided over the years, and the painstaking expert calibration conducted.

The case width and height are approximately 45mm (w/o crown) and 51.3mm respectively. The lug width is 24mm and the brand new ribbed rubber strap can accommodate wrists up to 21.0cm; hence, suitable for men and the modern women.

A brand-new hi-quality Ribbed Rubber strap with silver buckle comes with this timepiece.

To the best of our experience and knowledge, everything within the case including the crown, is 100% Zodiac original. There are no aftermarket or modified parts.

The pictures provided shows the watch in excellent condition and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A brand new EVA pouch is provided instead.
