In 1875, J. Bulova Company was established in the USA by Bohemian immigrant, Joseph Bulova. It was re-incorporated in 1923 as Bulova Watch Company. It was sold to Loews Corporation in 1929 who then sold it to Citizen in 2007.

Here we have a beautiful and extremely rare Bulova Longchamp Edition Dress Quartz Watch meant for the Japanese market.

This timepiece was given an overhaul, and its dial was meticulously cleaned, its electronic movement cleaned and touched up, demagnetised, and its battery replaced on 31 January 2024. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next battery change thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

The circular shaped silver case with Roman Numeral gold plated bezel also underwent a good clean and buffed. There is no peeling of gold plating but miniscule scratches are present. The mineral crystal is original and also underwent a good cleaning and buff, and is now also in near mint condition.

The crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is easily accessible. The date is changed via the traditional method of pulling out the crown to adjust accordingly.

The case width and height are approximately 32mm (without crown) and 37mm respectively. The bracelet width is 19mm and the bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 20cm, thereby making this timepiece suitable for both man and woman.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

The 2 tone gold-plated SS bracelet is an original Bulova signed model. Because of its gold-plating, the bracelet was given a deep cleaning and a good buff instead of ultrasonic treatment and is now in near mint condition with no peeling.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Bulova components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket parts or modified thereby it is considered in mint condition.

The pictures provided shows the watch case in pristine condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear & tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. An aftermarket box / case will be provided instead.

Seldom can one find a vintage watch that offers this and more. Yes, there are many other same / similar models in the market, BUT none are as well-kept and maintained as what you see here, and with an attractive price to boot. So, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind watch will make an extremely beautiful birthday present for that special someone! Another no-brainer is the fact that the value of this watch will appreciate over time.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and well taken care of for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.

This particular Bulova Longchamp with original bracelet is extremely rare and is not easily found on auction and online sale sites.

Do also bear in mind that it will cost between S$ 180.00 to S$ 200.00 for a proper overhaul, an estimated S$ 80.00 to calibrate (depending on watch condition), and S$ 120.00 to clean, high quality polish and tighten links for such a watch with bracelet - these costs do not apply when purchasing this timepiece. So, if anyone was to sell such a timepiece at a low price yet claim that it has been serviced, one has to ask what kind of servicing was conducted, if any.

This is a truly stunning Bulova Longchamp timepiece in excellent condition with original 2 tone bracelet; so, be unique and use something that is almost impossible to source.

This is a must-have for the Bulova die-hard fan, or any vintage watch fan for that matter!
