Founded in 1737, Favre-Leuba is the oldest watchmaking company in Switzerland. The company remained a family business until it was sold off circa 1985 due to the introduction of quartz watches, and had changed owners several times until it was acquired in 2011 by the Titan Company which is a joint venture partnership between the Tata Group and TIDCO.
Favre-Leuba had set and expended the boundaries of watch-making since 1737 and are now at the threshold of continuing this legacy with Titan Company's financial muscle.
Here we have a circa 2017 Favre Leuba Raider Deep Blue Re-Edition using the ever reliable ETA 2824-2 25H Hi-Beat movement.
This typical re-edition shaped silver case is in near mint condition with its super sharp curves and lines remaining intact. It was given a good cleaning followed by a good buff and most imperfections were removed without compromising the case shape and curves. The sapphire crystal is near spotless.
The signed crown is located at the 3H position between 2 crown guards yet is easily accessible. The date and hands quickset works by unscrewing followed by uncorking the crown to the first and second levels to adjust accordingly.
Equipped with the impressive and ever reliable ETA 2824-2 movement, it has 25 Jewels that operate at 28,800 BPH. Take note that there are models equipped with the lower priced Sellita SW200.
The case width and height are approx. 44mm (w/o crown) and 49.5mm respectively. The lug width is 24mm whilst the silicon diver strap can accommodate wrists up to 20cm; hence, suitable for men and the modern women. Take note that there are lowered priced models with 41mm width.
To the best of our knowledge and expertise during inspection, the watch is 100% original Favre Leuba components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.
Because it is a watch designed for actual diving, this timepiece is rated at 300m (30ATM).
The pictures provided shows the watch in near mint condition and well maintained. The watch comes with the original tag and zipper pouch.
Yes, there are many other same models in the market, BUT almost all are not in the same quality condition and is well maintained as what you see here. Hence, it is a no-brainer that this one-of-a-kind watch will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone, and its value will appreciate over time.
Valued between S$ 2,126.00 to S$ 3,010.00 on eBay, this watch is being sold for S$ 2,688.00 which is extremely reasonable.
This discontinued ETA 2824-2 Favre Leuba Raider Deep Blue 44mm width is extremely rare; so, be unique and wear a watch that is almost impossible to source in such fine condition.
