This Omega Geneve Sports Diver Cal 1481 is an extremely rare timepiece produced by Swiss luxury watchmaker Omega.

The Cal 1481 was officially launched in 1969. This particular timepiece (Cal 1481) equipped with date c/w semi-quickset was produced in 1973. Semi-Quickset is achieved by repeatedly moving the hands backward and forward between 20:30 and 24:00.

Here we have an overhauled Omega Geneve Sports Diver Cal 1481 Ref 166.0119 Automatic with Manual Winding capabilities in stunning condition.

A good and thorough clean-up revealed a beautifully preserved black dial with 3D white baton markers and white baton hands.

Its classy and stylish eye-shaped silver case was buffed as best as possible without compromising its shape, lines and brushed finish albeit a few minor scratches that are barely noticeable. The original crystal was given a good buff and is in excellent condition. The bi-directional bezel works as it should. Note: The bezel on these models is often swapped or refinished — this bezel is original and shows wear consistent with age.

The signed crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is easily accessible.

The movement (including the Main Spring) was carefully stripped, meticulously cleaned, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 10 September 2025; hence it underwent an overhaul and not a general servicing. It should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the 1481 movement made from copper-plated beryllium-bronze, it has 21 Jewels and operate at 21,600 BPH. The time-grapher shows superb readings of -1 seconds with amplitude of 188 with a consistent straight line! Such readings are extremely exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve, the meticulous care provided over the years, and expert calibration.

The case width and height are approx. 35mm (w/o crown) and 43mm respectively. The leather strap and SS bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 19cm; hence this timepiece is suitable for men and the modern women.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Omega components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested even though the seals are present.

The pictures provided show the watch in stuuning condition. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. An aftermarket box or purposeful carrying case will be provided instead.

This very rare watch will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in 1973, and its value will appreciate over time.

Bear in mind that this watch has seen many of the previous owners’ ups and downs in life, and should be cherished and preserved for the next generation to savour such engineering beauty.
