In 1993, Seiko introduced its first quartz watch with a perpetual calendar function. This was a remarkable development, as it brought the intricate feature of a perpetual calendar to the more accessible and widely used quartz watch market.

The Seiko Perpetual Calendar watch could accurately keep track of the date and automatically adjust for short months and leap years, requiring no manual adjustments until February 28, 2100.

For Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a highly sort-after August 1998 Seiko Perpetual Calendar 8F32-0140 in near mint condition.

A deep cleaning was conducted to reveal an immaculately preserved reflective White Dial, Arabic Numerals, Date Window, Baton Hands and Chapter Ring.

The silver case underwent a deep cleaning and was buffed; however, hairline scratches are present but barely noticeable. The acrylic glass was buffed and is in pristine condition.

The crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is nicely tucked away to prevent damage or snags yet it is easily accessible.

The movement was carefully stripped and meticulously cleaned, oiled, re-assembled and battery replaced on 15 June 2024; hence, it underwent an overhaul and should be able to operate unhindered until the next battery change which should be 8-10 years away according to Seiko's manual. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PERPETUAL CALENDAR HAS NOT BEEN SET.

Equipped with the well revered 8F32 Quartz movement. Day to day use indicates a time difference of 1 second a week which is considered supremely excellent for a quartz timepiece.

The case width and height are approximately 36.5mm (w/o crown) and 43mm respectively. The lug width is 18mm, and the strap can accommodate wrists up to 20cm; hence, suitable for men and the modern women.

A brand new hi-quality Bambi brand with silver buckle accompanies this timepiece.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.

Due to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested.

The pictures provided shows the watch in pristine condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. A brand new EVA pouch is provided instead.

This very rare white dial timepiece will make a beautiful birthday present for that special someone born in August 1998, and its value will appreciate over time.

This is a truly rare white dial August 1998 Seiko Perpetual Calendar in stunning condition; so, be unique and own a watch that is almost impossible to source in such fine condition.
