Roamer, founded by Fritz Meyer in 1888 in Solothurn, Switzerland, has long been celebrated for its commitment to quality craftsmanship and innovative watchmaking. The Roamer brand is dedicated to producing reliable and elegantly designed timepieces.

This particular model is a Roamer Central Seconds equipped with 17J that features the in-house MST Caliber 802 hand-wound movement, operating at 18,000 BPH. This MST movement named after Mr Stüdeli partnered Meyer (hence MST - Meyer + Stüdeli) is known for its durability and precision, reflecting Roamer's engineering excellence.

The watch had undergone a complete restoration and now showcases a pristine silvery white dial adorned with applied 18K gold Baton Indices and Dauphine Hands, offering a timeless and sophisticated aesthetic. The case underwent a complete 18K gold plating restoration and is now in mint condition. The gold-plated case measures 35.4mm in width and 45.6mm in height, providing a balanced presence on the wrist. The timepiece is complemented by a brand new high-quality vintage leather strap, enhancing its classic appeal.

The acrylic crystal was replaced and polished, restoring its clarity while preserving the watch's vintage charm. The crown, located at the 3 o'clock position, allows for manual winding and time-setting functions.

The movement was carefully stripped and meticulously cleaned, oiled and re-assembled on 18 February 2024. It underwent another basic servicing and calibration on 5 July 2025; hence, it should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.

Equipped with the excellent 17J MST 802 movement, it operates at 18,000 BPH. The time-grapher, after hours of calibration, shows excellent readings of -2 seconds every 24 hours and amplitude of 245 with a straight centered lines! Such readings are truly exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, excellent power reserve and longevity for such a vintage timepiece, the meticulous care provided over the years, and of course the painstaking calibration conducted.

To the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Roamer components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts. Due to its age, it has not been tested for water resistance.

The pictures provided shows the watch in pristine condition (no dents, dings and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box. An aftermarket box or purposeful carrying case will be provided instead.

The circa 1950s Roamer MST 802 17J is a testament to the brand's dedication to quality and design, offering a piece of horological history that continues to impress collectors and enthusiasts alike.
