Jim McEwan's Celtic Heartlands Range

Jim McEwan's name is synonymous with uniqueness, daring, thinking out of the box, and master of the black arts of whisky distillation.

For the Celtic Heartlands range, exceptional barrels of different distilleries are filled and aged almost to perfection.

These barrels were then filled in beautiful glass decanters, marked with a Gaelic symbol.

The glass carafe is firmly embedded in a noble black chest made from wood and covered with faux leather with hinge and magnetic latch.

Banff

Built in 1863, Banff is one of the few Highland distilleries to produce an extremely earthy and smoky malt. The distillery was heavily damaged by German bombers in 1941 and it finally closed its doors in 1983, thereby bottlings of this distillery are only available from independent bottlers such as Celtic Heartlands / Murray McDavid / Bruichladdich Distillery.

As per standard requirements of Jim McEwan, this expression is non-chilled filtered and colouring free.

There are only two bottles, number 192 and 195 for sale. Currently, they are being sold on other websites at close to Euro 770.00, hence the prices here are a steal!

This is a non-existent Limited-Edition Expression bottled in 2008, hence 14 years ago as we speak, and only 449 were bottled at cask strength thus making them extremely scarce.

Hence, a certain amount of the liquid may have given itself up as the "Angels Share," and the cork for such old expressions has the propensity to break which is very normal due to this phenomenon. Thus, the drinker must practice due diligence when opening this liquid gold bottle.

Regardless of how well an expression is stored, age has no boundaries, and faux leather has a finite lifespan, hence the faux leather casing is cracked in almost all parts of the box, and the lined interior has also faded to a certain extent. However, these imperfections have somewhat given this expression an authentic feel to its genuine age.

Take note that these expressions are sold in "as is" condition due to their age.
