This acquisition allowed Seiko to expand its presence in the watch industry and further diversify its product offerings.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Orient Watch Company is known for its own line of watches and has a history of producing affordable and well-regarded mechanical timepieces. This particular model was thus produced by Orient before Seiko's takeover.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis discontinued Orient Model F429-21550 watch is a super rare and is already a Collectible due to its unique designed day layout, solid construction, colour scheme and accuracy.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Mexican Blue Dial with date\/day layout, Baton Markers, Baton Hands, Date and Day Window and Case are in near mint condition after a good clean-up. The crystal was replaced with a hi-quality crystal and is in excellent condition after a good buff.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTwo crowns are present at 2H and 3H. Both are nicely tucked away to prevent damage or snags yet easily accessible. The date quickset works as it should by pushing in the 2H crown. The 3H crown is for hands adjustment. There is no quickset for day adjustment, and it must be manually done via crown rotating until the correct day appears in the window. The day is in English and Japanese.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDo note that the day quickset in many of this watch model is damaged. This causes a drop in value. This watch day quickset works as it should. Cool!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIts movement was carefully stripped, and meticulously cleaned, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 20 June 2025; hence it underwent an overhaul and should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the owner peace of mind.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEquipped with the excellent F42970 movement, it operates at 18,000 BPH. The time-grapher, shows excellent readings of 0 seconds and amplitude of 199 with a straight beat line. Such readings are exceptional even by brand new modern automatic watch standards whereby the accepted tolerance is -20 to +40 seconds a day! This is a testament to the quality, the meticulous care provided over the years, and the painstaking expert calibration conducted.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe case width and height are approx. 38.9mm (with crown), and 40.0mm respectively. The lug width is 18mm and bracelet can accommodate wrists up to 16.5cm, thus this watch is suitable for men and the modern women.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe watch comes with an Orient-Signed H-Link SS bracelet with buckle as part of the deal. It too underwent a full ultrasonic cleaning and polish and is now in near mint condition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Orient components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEven though the gaskets and seals are in place, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested due to its age.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe pictures provided shows the watch in stunning condition (no dents and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy.
