This movement was predominantly used in the Seiko Sportsman series. It is a mechanical watch that manually must be wound. This has not gone unnoticed by many watch companies so much so that Seiko, Orient etc. have launched \"re-editions\" of famous vintage designs; however, current automatic movement models are used instead.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFor Seiko Collectors and Vintage fans, this is a pre-SUWA (logo) September 1963 Seiko Sportsman Cal 4361 Seikosha 17J in near mint condition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis extremely rare Seiko Sportsman is a sight to behold! Its original egg white dial is in pristine condition after a good clean-up, so too the 14K solid-gold baton indices, hands, and gold-filled case.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe timeless cylindrical shaped 20-micron gold-filled case was buffed as best as possible; however, some hairline scratches are still present that are barely noticeable. The crystal was given a good polish and is now in near mint condition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe crown is located at the traditional 3H position and is easily accessible. The worn-out stem was replaced with an NOS Seiko 4361 movement stem. A tiny gap between the crown and case is intentional for easier winding and time adjustment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe movement was carefully stripped, cleaned, oiled, re-assembled and calibrated on 7 May 2025; hence it was overhauled and should be able to operate unhindered until the next servicing thereby providing the buyer peace of mind.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEquipped with the well revered 4361 movement, it has 17 Jewels that operate at 18,000 BPH. The time-grapher shows excellent readings of +2 seconds and amplitude of 197 with an excellent straight centered line! This is a testament to the quality, the meticulous care provided over the years, and the painstaking calibration conducted.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe case width and height are approx. 32.5mm (w\/o crown) and 40mm respectively. The lug width is 18mm and the leather strap can accommodate wrists up to 21cm; hence, suitable for men and the modern women.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA brand new hi-quality genuine leather strap with gold buckle is provided as part of the deal to enhance the colour of the case and dial.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTo the best of our knowledge and expertise when overhauling the timepiece, the watch is 100% original Seiko components from this particular watch. No parts were replaced with aftermarket or modified parts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDue to its age, this timepiece has not been water-resistant tested even though the seals are in place.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe pictures provided shows the watch in pristine condition (no dents, dings and major scratches), and the movement within squeaky clean and well maintained. It has also been demagnetised to improve parts reliability, minimise wear + tear, and improve accuracy. The only drawback is the lack of documentation and original box.
